Are Hospitals Turning into the New Airports?

Consumers have always complained hospitals are terrible places to visit. Now they get to feel as if they’re visiting an inmate. Guests at one Coachella Valley hospital are asked to present IDs at the door. And it gets worse:

Since October, Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage has been running licenses or other photo IDs through a scanner so the information stored on the magnetic strip can be added to a computer database.”
