Your Lack of Response to Media/Public Is Hazardous to Your Employer

An irate journalist/faculty member takes university communications team to task for lack of response. A shameful example of why PR professionals can’t just punch out on Friday afternoon.

Again, I wish I didn’t have to write this. Maybe I’d hold my tongue if it weren’t for the fact that I’ve tried to get in contact with the CSU Public Safety Team more discreetly. A call to CSU’s head of public relations went to voicemail on Sunday morning. The greeting there said Dell Rae Moellenberg was out of the office, but to page the team if I were a reporter on deadline. I did that, but to no effect. Similar calls on the night of Jan. 31, when temperatures dropped below zero and students demanded updates via Facebook, also went unanswered.”
