Breast Cancer Survivors See Red When They See Pink

It’s an easy way to get the attention of female consumers – slap a pink ribbon on your product. Some consumers, however, have had enough. Jaonne Laucious in Post Media News:

Last October, along with about 40 other female runners — fellow breast cancer survivors, friends, family members — she formed a team and ran in Ottawa’s CIBC Run For the Cure. They wore pink T-shirts with the team’s name: No Pink For Profit. The team pulled in $20,000 in donations. “The fact that there were 40-plus women on the team shows that more and more people are suffering from pink fatigue,” saysKingston. “Some of us wanted to be part of the CIBC Run For the Cure. It’s a fun event. But we’re uncomfortable with some of the pink stuff that’s rammed down our throats. It’s a pink bunny-making machine.”
